Securing the Hand-Off: How Central Dispatch Is Setting a New Standard for Vehicle Transfer

In a recent conversation with FreightWaves, I was able to talk about something we’ve been laser-focused on at Central Dispatch: making vehicle transportation more secure across the entire ecosystem. We covered a lot of ground — from how Central Dispatch has evolved into a fully integrated transport marketplace where more than 20 million vehicles are listed each year, to the biometric identity verification we’ve rolled out on our platform, and what I’m most excited about: Secure Vehicle Transfer.  

Secure Vehicle Transfer gives shippers control over exactly who is authorized to pick up their vehicle through a digital credential that’s revocable, non-transferable and geofenced. But here’s what I stressed in the interview: technology alone isn’t what makes this successful. It’s going to take everyone – shippers, carriers and pickup locations – all doing their part to establish a new standard for how vehicles change hands.  

We also talked about what we’re seeing in the broader auto transport market, our AI-driven pricing tool, and how strong demand and move volume are holding up even as carriers navigate rising costs, insurance and regulatory pressures.
